Toronto Parking & Fines Manager

Why Toronto Drivers Need This

🎫 Toronto issues 7,400+ parking tickets every day — the most in Canada
💸 Missing a 15-day deadline adds $80+ in late fees to a simple $30 ticket
📈 One speeding ticket can increase your insurance by $400–$1,500/year for 3 years
⚖️ Over 30% of disputed tickets are reduced or dismissed — most people don't know
🚗 Unpaid tickets block your plate renewal — even a $30 ticket can stop your sticker
🤖 Drivee's AI scanner reads your ticket in 3 seconds and tells you exactly what to do

🅿️ What about “20 min Delivery Zone” signs?

That green-P sign with “20 min Delivery Zone” is a courier loading zone. By Toronto bylaw it's for vehicles actively making a delivery — picking up or dropping off goods — with a 20-minute maximum.

OK if you're delivering something. Dropping a package, picking up an order, helping a friend move a box. Park, finish your stop, leave within 20 minutes.
Not free parking. Don't use it to grab coffee, run errands, or leave your car for the day. Parking enforcement does ticket these zones — especially weekdays during the day.
ℹ️ This is a summary of City of Toronto rules. When in doubt, read the full sign — there may be extra restrictions (rush hour, by-permit, etc.).

⚖️ Early Resolution — AI form helper
For tickets that are too small to fight in court but worth pleading down. Drivee drafts the form for you.
What is Early Resolution?

Ontario lets you meet a prosecutor before your court date for most provincial offences (parking, minor speeding, stop-sign, seatbelt). You explain your situation in writing or in person — the prosecutor can reduce the fine, drop demerit points, or withdraw the ticket entirely.

Why use it?
  • Cheaper than a lawyer. No retainer, no hourly fee.
  • Faster than trial. Most resolutions come back in 2–3 weeks.
  • Lower demerit hit. A $295 careless-driving ticket often pleads down to a $115 no-points equivalent.
  • Best for "not too dangerous" tickets. Speeding 1–29, parking, stop sign, seatbelt, HOV.

♿ Accessible Parking Permit (APP)
Ontario's "handicap" parking permit — apply yourself for free, or let Drivee fill out the forms for you.
What is it?

The Accessible Parking Permit (APP) — issued by Service Ontario — lets you legally park in any designated accessible space, plus most metered street spaces free of charge for up to the maximum posted time. It also works in every Canadian province and most US states.

Who can get one?

You may qualify if a regulated health professional certifies that you have one of these conditions, among others:

  • Cannot walk without the help of another person, a brace, cane, crutch, prosthetic device, wheelchair or other assistive device.
  • Severe lung disease — forced expiratory volume of less than 1 litre.
  • Severe heart condition (Class III or IV functional limitations).
  • Vision restricted to a field of less than 20° in the best eye, or worse than 20/200 in the best eye corrected.
  • Severe restriction of use of a leg or both legs.
  • Any other neurological, musculoskeletal or orthopedic condition that severely restricts mobility.
Three permit types
  • Permanent — valid 5 years.
  • Temporary — for short-term conditions (1 to 12 months).
  • Traveller — for visitors who already hold a permit elsewhere.

ontario.ca — Accessible Parking Permit

Apply in 4 steps

1
Get the application form
Download the official Application for Accessible Parking Permit form from Service Ontario forms (Form 3925), or pick one up free at any ServiceOntario centre.
2
Fill out your section
Section A is yours — name, address, date of birth, driver's licence number (if you have one), phone, and which permit type you're applying for. Make sure your address matches your driver's licence. If you don't drive, write "no driver's licence".
3
Have a health professional certify Section B
A qualified professional must certify your condition — physician, nurse practitioner, optometrist (for vision), physiotherapist, occupational therapist, chiropractor, or registered nurse in extended class. Bring the form to your next appointment. Most charge a small assessment fee (typically $20–$50, not covered by OHIP).
4
Submit your application
Three options — pick whichever is easiest:
  • In person at any ServiceOntario centre — fastest, you walk out with the permit same-day in many cases.
  • By mail to: Ministry of Transportation, Licensing Administration Office, Bldg "A", 2680 Keele St, Downsview ON M3M 3E6.
  • By fax to 416-235-3400.
Once approved, your permit is mailed to the address on the application within 3–4 weeks.

Skip the paperwork. Answer a few questions, upload your medical certification photo, and we'll prepare the completed Form 3925, print it, and mail it to ServiceOntario on your behalf. You just sign and wait for the permit in your mailbox.

🛡️ Car Safety & Pre-Purchase Inspection
Buying or selling a car? Get it inspected first. Trusted Toronto shops, ranked.
Pre-purchase inspection = a licensed mechanic checks a used car before you buy it — engine, frame, brakes, rust, accident history — so you don't inherit someone else's $4,000 problem. A Safety Standards Certificate (MVIS) is the official inspection required to transfer ownership when you buy or sell in Ontario. Both are worth it. Book one below.
Drivee lists these shops as a convenience and earns nothing from the rankings (Azcan Auto is our featured partner). Ratings & reviews open live on Google. Always confirm price & availability when you call.
DIY PRE-PURCHASE CHECK

How to check a car before you buy

A 3-minute walkthrough so you spot a lemon before you hand over a dollar.

1 Match the VIN
Find the VIN on the dashboard (through the windshield) and the driver's door-jamb sticker, then compare both to the VIN on the ownership / registration. If even one character differs, walk away — the car may be stolen or rebuilt from two wrecks.
Car
Papers
VIN matches — this car is what the papers say
2 Walk around & inspect
🛢️
Oil & fluid leaks
Look under the engine & on the ground. Wet spots, drips or a burnt smell = trouble.
🔢
Odometer
Does the mileage fit the wear? Low km but worn pedals = possible rollback.
🦶
Pedals & interior
Heavily worn pedals, seat & wheel mean far more use than the seller claims.
🚗
Body & panels
Uneven gaps, mismatched paint or overspray = past collision/repair.
🛞
Tires & rust
Uneven tread = alignment/suspension issues. Check wheel wells & sills for rust.
🔧
Test drive
Listen for knocks, watch the dash lights, feel for pulling or rough shifting.
3 Check the history
Always pull a Carfax report and the seller's UVIP (Used Vehicle Information Package — required by law in Ontario). They reveal accidents, liens, branding (salvage/rebuilt) and previous owners. A clean-looking car with a shady report is not a clean car.

🔒 Car Anti-Theft Protection
Toronto is a car-theft hotspot. Protect your vehicle before it's gone.
Auto theft has exploded across the GTA — thieves can clone a key fob or hijack a car in under a minute, especially newer keyless models. If your car is stolen it isn't just the loss of the vehicle: you face an insurance claim, a higher deductible, weeks without a car, and — for many drivers — a permanently higher premium. A few preventive layers make your car a harder, slower target so thieves move on.
!What happens if it's stolen
📈
Insurance goes up
A theft claim can raise your premium for years, and some insurers now refuse certain high-theft models without a tracker.
💸
Deductible + gap
You pay your deductible, and a payout may not cover what you still owe on financing.
Weeks without a car
Claims, police reports and replacement can take weeks — often without a rental.
🪪
Your data is exposed
Ownership, garage-door openers and address details often sit inside the stolen car.
How to protect your car
📡
GPS tracker
A hidden tracker helps police recover the car fast and can lower your premium.
🛑
Immobilizer
An aftermarket immobilizer blocks the engine from starting without a secret step.
🔑
Faraday pouch
Store your key fob in a signal-blocking pouch so it can't be cloned from your hallway.
🔒
Wheel / OBD lock
A visible steering lock or locked OBD port slows thieves down — most give up.
Park smart too: well-lit spots, driveway nose-in, and never leave the fob near the front door. A layered setup (tracker + immobilizer + fob pouch) is what insurers like to see — and what actually deters theft.
Get it installed
Anti-theft devices reduce risk but cannot guarantee a car won't be stolen. Always confirm pricing and what insurers in your area accept when you call.
